From a young age, Jarrod had a clear vision of his future as a builder, often trailing behind his carpenter father on construction sites with his own set of plastic tools. After qualifying as a carpenter, he gained invaluable experience working in supervisory roles with several high-end custom builders in Western Australia and South-West Sydney in a supervisory role.
Recognising the significant impact of sustainable building practices on enhancing the quality of life, Jarrod returned to Wollongong in 2018 to found Arken Built.
He believes that open communication is the cornerstone of every successful project. He is committed to fostering a respectful, safe, and collaborative environment for clients, trades, and his team, ensuring that each build reflects the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

ANNELEISE CARRATT

​Anneleise is our Principal Building Designer who brings a meticulous eye for detail and deep understanding and passion for sustainability. With a background as a mechanical engineer, she transitioned into building design to make a positive impact on the environment.
​
Since obtaining her building design qualifications, she has earned award recognition for her designs and completed a PhD at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre.
​
Anneleise is passionate about solar passive design, fostering connections to the surrounding environment through biophilic principles that prioritise natural light, effective ventilation, and thoughtful glazing.
​
She is hands-on in every project, conducting site visits, collaborating with professional services and trades, and overseeing all aspects of administration and approvals to ensure every home meets high standards of quality — and, just as importantly, helps clients find lasting joy and comfort in the spaces they live in.
